4-10-20 Coronavirus stories making headlines

Here are some of the major coronavirus developments that are making headlines right now . . . 

1.  22% of Americans now personally know someone who’s been diagnosed with coronavirus.  That number has doubled in two weeks.

2.  The federal government says that most of us should receive our stimulus checks within the next week.  Although in some cases, people won’t get them until SEPTEMBER.

3.  This is the textbook definition of a Pyrrhic victory.  The world is on track to see its biggest yearly drop in carbon pollutionever because of everything getting shut down for coronavirus.

4.  Some Americans in Beirut, Lebanon have declined the government’s offer to fly them home because they believe it’s safer there in the Middle East than in the U.S.

5.  There’s strong evidence that the conspiracy theory that coronavirus is caused by 5G technology is being pushed as a coordinated disinformation campaign by an unknown country. 

6.  The air travel numbers in the U.S. are at the same levels as they were in 1954 . . . that was the last time an average of fewer than 100,000 people flew per day.

7.  There’s video of people in Indonesia jumping off a ferry after hearing that some people on board had coronavirus symptoms.

8.  Two new random symptoms that might be associated with coronavirus are:  Hives and redness that sort of resemble frostbite . . . and pain in your testes.
