It doesn’t get much more symbolic than this.
Video posted on Facebook last year shows the incredible moment when a bald eagle managed to land atop a fire truck in Minnesota that was displaying an American flag in honor of 9/11 victims.
“Isn’t that unbelievable,” said Andover Fire Chief Jerry Streich in a clip captured with his cellphone.
“This eagle just landed on the aerial while we’re doing the 9/11 memorial…Phenomenal.”
The majestic creature — which is native to the Land of 10,000 Lakes — stayed perched atop the fire truck for about 45 seconds before flying off.
“We are all set up here so nobody forgets,” Streich explained, in reference to the roadside memorial, which was set up by local firefighters and veterans from across the Twin Cities.
“And there goes the eagle…Unbelievable.”
More than 4.9 million people have watched the video after it was posted on the Andover Fire Department’s Facebook page.
