The community is invited to join radio personality J. Brooks of 98.7 KISS Country and the One Vision Children’s Autism Center to celebrate six years of autism awareness, advocacy and acceptance at the annual J. Brooks Walk-A-Block fundraiser on April 13.
All proceeds from the walk directly benefit One Vision Children’s Autism Center.
This year’s event will be held from 9-11 a.m. at City Park in Clear Lake. At 9 a.m.,
a resource reception will be held in the Lakeview Room directly behind the City Park bandshell.
Area autism supports and services will be present to visit and answer questions.
There also will be on-site games and activities for kids and families.
The walk begins at 10 a.m. Following the walk, a balloon release will take place at the Clear Lake Sea Wall.
Walkers are encouraged to register ahead of the walk and, once registered, create a fundraising page where they can share their story, why they plan to walk and encourage others to donate to the event. Walkers can create a team, join a team or walk on their own. Prizes will be awarded to team captains or individuals fundraising on their own once reach specific fundraising goals.
